Galaxy Z Flip 5’s Cover Display to get Optimized Google Apps
Samsung is currently the leading manufacturer in the foldable phone market. It has launched four generations of book-style foldables and three of the clamshell type. What makes Samsung’s foldables one of the best in their software? They have constantly made sure there are no half-baked features that ruin the software experience for the users.
That said, the second Unpacked event is just around the corner. Samsung is all set to launch their new foldable devices, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The event will likely occur in the last week of next month (July 2023).
We know that foldable phones have screens of sizes that are not usually seen in slab phones. Hence, the apps look and behave differently, too. Developers must build and modify apps to optimise for these different form factors. On that note, it is being said that Samsung has partnered with Google to get some of Google’s apps optimised for the cover display of the Galaxy Z Flip 5. Speaking of the Galaxy Z Flip 5, it is rumoured to get a revamped cover display. The size will likely be 3.4 inches.
This will make the cover display of the clamshell foldable device much more usable. And with the small size of the display, this is required.
It has become a norm these days to see the specifications of devices getting leaked much ahead of their launches. The same is the case with the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The most significant change we will likely see in the device is the cover screen itself.
According to what we know, the cover display will get a new design and measure 3.4 inches. The display will almost be a square. Another major upgrade would be the chipset. The device will likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. Last year’s Z Flip 4 uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. So we can expect slightly better battery life even if the battery capacity stays the same. Lastly, although it is unclear, we may see some upgrades in the primary camera.
